Homemade Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream


i used this recipe. discovered on twitter, drooled over and by coincidence, joy luck club member Mean Jean sent me the link on facebook.

i altered the steps just a bit, not on purpose, i was just being an assclown and didn't read the directions correctly:

i split the sugar, putting 1/2 cup into the minted cream, reserving the remaining 1/4 to mix with the egg yolks step.

i used unsweetened chocolate because holy shit, 3/4 cup sugar is a lot! i'll scale back on the sugar next time around.

the concoction did not turn green, and under threat by my friend Mike, i did not use food coloring. the mint aftertaste was delightful.

baltimore is going thru a major heat wave right now, one that is making us all sweat like sinners in church. this is a nice treat to cool down.
