Recipes to Rival: Steak Diane

Dear Fellow Recipes to Rival,
again, this post will be brief. i am back from my long weekend in PR and i am inundated with fatigue and random stuff. keeping it real short:

this month's challenge is hosted by temperence of high on the hog and shawnee of delishes delishes. i did not do the flambe thing, only because i had the sauce going, the steak going and taking pix and really, it seemed like a lot of work and the fear of burning down my home was ever present. i served my steak over creamy polenta.

for more gorgeousness, head over to the blogroll.

till next month,
Angry Asian

Beautiful presentation! I didn't flambe' mine either, and it was still delicious!

Mmmm! That steak looks perfect! I hope you do try to flambe' some time, though. Maybe it'll be easier without the pressure of photography.

This is a beautiful presentation. For one so rushed you did an incredible job.

jmom, thank you. i didn't think flambe-ing it would add much more flavor and while i think it would've been fun to capture on camera, the logistics just did not work out.

shawnee, thank you. i do like steak but for some reason, i usually cook mine til pretty much done even tho at restaurants, i order it medium rare! this time around, i overcame that fear and the steak came out nice and pink on the inside and delish. i just might have to make this again for my boyfriend and impress him with fire. :)

mary, thank you. i was really hoping to get the picture out clear enough to post on foodgawker to drive more traffic for this wonderful group. i got the presentation thing down (the polenta btw, was great with the steak) but in my haste to actually eat while everything was still warm, i didn't get great shots. :( there is always next month!

The polenta was a great Idea, It is something I still have to master so for now I will admire yours. And the presentation is wonderful!
