simple things

i've been feeling out of sorts for awhile now. i think my hectic and rather dysfunctional summer has finally lodged itself up my ass (hopefully not permanently) and shit is just spiraling out of control. at least, i think it is. if it's not my condo association wanting to revolt against the current association president, then it's my neighbors' dirty habits and i have mighty mouse's family hanging out in my kitchen, if it's not my youngest sister being a complete ass clown, then it's the sister right after me being a bigger complete ass clown and the middle sister is the only sane one of us all, even tho she's been shipped to boarding school, if it's not the economy going down the shitter, then it's some bohick wench wanting to introduce creationism into our schools. that's just a small idea of the crap that festers in my life. seriously. and now i can't find any effing powdered castile soap or washing soda in my local stores (health-wise or random grocery store) so i can make some effing eco-friendly laundry detergent. and FYI, washing soda and baking soda are not the same thing.

Bilbo Baggins said it best when he was lamenting to Gandalf before his birthday party: "I feel... thin. Sort of stretched, like... butter scraped over too much bread. I need a holiday. A very long holiday."

and now i'd like to take a deep breath, count to 12 and make some semblance of order. i am going to take a drawer in my abode and clean it. clean the ever living shit out of it.

meanwhile, enjoy some of the blogs i've been covetting this week:

Ali Edwards: her photography and scrapbooks are amazing.

Roxy Craft: as tho i need to spend even more money! :) my friend Jen sent me this link for crochet patterns of cute little things. i'm particularly enamoured with the Oui Petite Dolls.

Cake Wrecks: people can be so creative sometimes!

passive-aggressive notes: reading these make me feel better.

laughing purple goldfish designs: oh how i love crafty people who play with yarn.

photojojo: the things you can do with your photos! create shoes. you can create a time capsule. there's a forum to discuss everything about photography.

wandering chopsticks - i visit her blog occasionally, especially for vietnamese recipe advice, if grandma can't help me, then she can. she currently has a series on improving one's blog, whether it be thru content, photography, online attitude, etiquette etc. it's valuable information for newbies, but also, great food for thought. there are some people in your life who make you want to be a better person, for the blogging community in general, she makes *me* want to be a better blogger.

and that is all i had time for this week. go figure that i started my 2nd job and work picks up and i'm back to recruiting again, albeit for a contract position but fingers crossed that i'll be able to make some commission soon!

we all have that random drawer that has everything in it and no semblance of order to it.

let's see how long this drawer will stay organized.

my best friend kelcy walked for the Cure this weekend in Charlotte, NC. We're participating in the Boob Bake Off. Please participate somehow, either from voting or baking

Today's soundtrack: Eddie Vedder, Hard Sun

  1. Good luck on the bake off. The drawer is neat and organized now. But it was not that messy to begin with, at least according to my standard. :D

  2. jun -
thank you. as i was cleaning out the drawer, i did think that it wasn't a very good first drawer to clean out, as it wasn't that crazy messy. :) i think i'll tackle my sock drawer next!

  5. Aww, how did I miss this post? Google Alerts didn't even tell me. That's so sweet. I don't know about all that. I just put forth what I like and others can choose to do the same or not.

I realize the blogs I enjoy reading the most are from others who blog for the enjoyment of blogging, not those intent on getting hits or making a career out of it.

  6. chi WC, i am so glad that summer is over! the year improved marginally but anything is better than what i had to deal with then!

i know what you mean about the blogs who are more intent on getting hits or making a career, there's a falseness to it. when i'm rushed and not feeling geniune about anything i make, i just don't blog now. why waste anyone's time? :)
